Pipe Color Coded

Concern:

Buildings include many piping systems, for hot- and cold water supply, fire sprinklers, etc. The proper pipe sections must be connected during construction. The right valves must be opened and closed while the facility is in use.

Countermeasure:

Each pipe is identified by color and with labels to indicate the system it supports (e.g., per the ANSI/ASME 13.1 standard for identification of pipe).
These colors help workers recognize the function of each pipe, so they can clearly identify which one(s) to work on, what valves to shut off, etc.
