Concern:
Structural bolts must have the proper pretension in order to be functional. This tension is achieved by torqueing the bolt however torque is not a reliable indicator of tension.
Countermeasure:
Squirter DTIs are compressible washers that show when a bolt reaches its target tension, independent of torque, by expressing orange-colored material.
