Road Rumble Strip
Concern:
Distracted or sleepy drivers may veer off the road or cross the centerline into the opposing traffic lane.
Countermeasure:
Rumble strips cause the vehicle to make a loud noise (auditory feedback) that alerts the driver, so that they can avoid running off the road or colliding with other vehicles or obstacles.
